Sophos Home edition for Mac version 9.2.7 detected a threat (Troj/DocDl-OB) and asked to clean it up. Having started the clean-up process, the programme appears unable to complete the task and I'm left with a perpetually spinning progress wheel.
Peculiarly the virus appeared when I was Googling 'Healthy Home Economist'. Having typed the words in and pressed enter in the Safari search bar, a message appeared within the browser saying a virus had been downloaded and I should go ahead and scan my mac via the buttons displayed in the browser window. Of course, I didn't, and simply went to Sophos to complete the task. However, the Sophos clean up process is now hung.
Out of curiosity I went back to the browser window and pressed the button and after a message saying Threat Detected, I was invited to 'Delete the Threat' and of course there then followed an invite to download MacKeeper2. So it would appear to be just an advertising scam.
Any ideas how to stop Sophos from being stuck in Clean Up Threat mode?
