Troj/RSTDoor-B Issue

Every time I start up my Mac Pro I get the following message from Sophos:

Threat detected by Sophos Anti-Virus

'Virus/Spyware' Troj/RSTDoor-B has been detected and listed in Quarantine Manager.

When I open Quarantine Manager, it breifly shows that virus in the list, but the disapears before I can do anything about it (delete, reveal in Finder, etc).

I would like to see how I can get this removed for good, but seem to be stuck. Any ideas?

  • Check the log to see if it says where the threat is found.

For an explanation of the logs watch this video...

If may be worth clearing your web browser's cache and disconnect external drives when running a scan.

  • Thanks for the video - it was informative, however it does not seem to get me any futher along. I checked the logs and found instances of this:

    com.sophos.intercheck: 2015-06-09 14:29:56 -0500 Threat: 'Troj/RSTDoor-B' detected in
com.sophos.intercheck: Access to the file denied

When I try to reveal in Finder from the Sophos program the record disappears from as well. See video link for sample and let me know if there is a way to fix this. Thanks!
