OS X 10.9 and AutoUpdate never finishes?

Hi everyone,

We are looking into a problem that has been reported, and wanted to ask how many other people see this issue as well.

Problem: AutoUpdate seems to never finish (the menu bar icon keeps flashing its "downloading" pattern) on Mac OS X 10.9 "Mavericks".

Resolution: restart the SophosAutoUpdate process; in many cases this "cures" the problem for a while although it might come back.

We are very interested to hear from you if its happening on your machine, how often it happens, and what else might be running on your machine when it happens. Thanks for any input you can provide.

Thanks for the info. Can you tell me a little more about your computer setup? Something to check is disk bandwidth using Activity Monitor. In the Disk tab there is a "Data read/sec" and "Data written/sec" number, would be useful to know what those numbers look like when the update happens (my question is to determine whether it is CPU usage or disk usage that is slowing down the computer).
