OSX 10.6.8 Snow Leopard.

I just cannot install the 'Home Edition' of Sophos on this iMac computer, and I think it's because the latest versions, Mountain Lion etc., automatically launch.

Would someone please advise me how to get the Sophos version that's compatible with this older computer.

Thanks.

  • One screenshot complains about missing files.  The other shows a file structure that isn't correct - always good to have a screenshot.  Thanks.

Did you move the files about?  If I download the Home Edition to the Downloads folder and extract it, I get this...

    |--Downloads (folder)
       |—-savosx_he_r.zip
       |--savosx_he_r (folder)
          |--Sophos Anti-Virus Home Edition.app
          |--Sophos Installer Components (folder)
             |--av-data (folder)
             |--savi.bundle

But looking at the screenshot of your Finder structure you have no 'Sophos Installer Components' folder.  The 'av-data' folder and 'savi.bundle' file are at the same level as the 'Sophos Anti-Virus Home Edition.app' file.

Delete the all the Sophos files/folders but the savosx_he_r.zip and extract again.  See what structure you end up with then.
