Install takes HOURS

Something clearly isn't right. I am doing an install on several computers. As far as I can tell there are no significant differences in the configurations. Using the same install file, one computer has been running for several hours to complete the "Running Executables" portion of the install. There are no error messages being generated, I've killed as many background applications as I can and yet it keeps going and going and going and...

Anyone have a clue?

    Hey LDMartin,

    Just to confirm, you're only having this issue on the one computer? The others installed ok?

    As for the one with issues, honestly what I would do is just kill the install, restart my Mac and try again. 

    If that fails, check the install log. That should give you some details on what's going wrong. Feel free to post your results here, and I'll take a look.

    To access the install log, use spotlight to search for Console.

    Within Console, expand /var/log and scroll down to find install.log

    Hope that helps, but let me know if you're still having trouble.

    Yes, it is only on one computer.

    Have already killed the process, restarted the computer, ran the uninstall and then started the install process again. The install issue did not change -- still taking time....

    The latest, 10.10.4. As an update, I just let the thing "run" while doing other things and periodically checking on it. It eventually completed but the fact that it was an issue at all is somewhat disconcerting.

    Ok, good. Looking at the logs, it does look a bit strange to me, as in, in looks like the install actually completed every time, but I'm assuming something was hanging so that it indicated to you it wasn't actually complete. 

    As this is a new release of SAV (9.2.7, just went out last week) it's great that you let us know about this. I'll make a note, let our development team know and we'll keep an eye out for anyone else who might experience anything similar.

    Hopefully it was just a one off glitch and you won't have any future issues, but please don't hesitate to let us know if you have any questions or other issues.

    I am having the same issue, also using the latest version of Yosemite. Been stuck on the "Running executables" screen for about a half hour. Would you advise letting it continue to run or kiling it? Any new insight into this issue?

    I would probably just kill it and try again. 

    If you're curious, you can look at the install log if you want to see what may have stalled. (Spotlight search 'console' > open "install.log") Feel free to post the output into this thread and we can take a look.
