Free Virus Removal Tool Scan Time

Hi,

I had tried out the hitman pro software on my computer and it seemed to function very well, however it only has a free 30 day trial period, after that time all it does is perform a scan that informs you of any threats. So while I looking around on the sophos site I discovered the free virus removal tool. So I decided to give it a try, first it updated with the latest file information, and then begin to scan my system. As I'm typing this post it's still scanning my system, I didn't realize that the software would take this long to scan my system, has anyone else had this issue ? I'm not complaining as the software is a free product, and since I've never used it previously I didn't really know how long a scan is supposed to take.

    Hallo David,

    it's a "classic" Removal Tool and performs an in-depth scan that takes some time, depending on what's on your disk(s) it can take hours, it's not an issue.
    Keep in mind that it's not a tool that can protect in the sense that it prevents malware from running. Didn't you stumble over Sophos Home or don't you like that it's managed via a cloud-console?

    It's free. We are blessed that it is scanning our system for free. It can longer than you can imagine. But that should not be a problem when it's free. I wouldn't mind.
