Sophos Bootable CD over PXE

Hi,

I would like to use the Sophos Bootable CD over PXE, but I'm getting the following error,

looking for 'slax' data directory (searching for livecd.sgn file)

Fatal error occured - slax data not found.

Its almost as if it is looking for the CD in the drive? If I boot the ISO over PXE with the bootable CD in the drive it works fine, but if I remove the bootable CD the ISO over PXE does not work? The same happens above for adding the ISO to a bootable USB key?

The bootable CD is very handy and I thought booting the ISO over PXE would allow easy quick access to the boot CD without me having to carry it around.

Anyone managed to do something like the above and get it to work? Any advise or help would be much appreciated.

  • dear sir,

you can use usb flash disk to make bootable. Steps :

    1.Download newest sbav. this link_securedotsophosdotcom/.../sbav_10_sfxdotexe

2.Save the downloaded  sbav_10_sfx file to your Windows desktop and then double-click it to install the SBAV CD creator application, the Licence Agreement and the Release Notes. Note that during the installation you will be prompted for the location to which you want to install i

3.Accept the Licence Agreement, and then specify the installation location make a note of it. (The default is C:\SBAV)

4.Open a command prompt. To do this, click Start | Run and then type cmd and press the Enter key.

5.Type cd c:\sbav10 (or replace C:\SBAV with the location you noted in step 2. SBAV assumes that you are working from the C: drive, so if the location is in another drive, you will have to change directories first). Press Enter.

    6.Type sbavc.exe sbav.iso

7.now you have sav.iso. pls dowload software  unebootin. this link__unetbootindotsourceforgedotnet

and install unebootin so browse sbav.iso press OK.

Restart your computer so press delete at your keyboard. so setting the first boot by USB , the second boot by Hardisk. Save setting. Restart computer.

    8.Scan --- Enjoy!!

  • Hello. I was wondering how you turned the iso into a wim to boot from it? Or am I going about this the wrong way? Any help would be great! I would love to be able to boot over pxe to the sophos iso.

We have system center as our management solution. Would be great if I can get it into a Task Sequence and boot out of System Center.

    Thanks,

    Josh
