Virus disinfection

Hi Everyone!

Sophos Antivirus free tool run on my Ubuntu 18.04.4 LTS machine without any problem.
Today I receive a virus alert when I start notepad++ (after Wine was updated), it was a malware (below the details).
There is the first case to an alert, please help me to decide need any further 'to do' or not.

It is my tool version:

312 errors were encountered.
1 virus was discovered.
1 file out of 193188 was infected.

End of Scan.

The disinfection was automatic? (not need to do it directly)
It is the fresh version of Sophos AV free tool?

Best Regards:
Imre

  • Hello Imre,

first of all, it's up to date (the  Last Update  is current).

    The disinfection was automatic?
If you do not use the -di or -remove option savscan merely reports the threat. Please note that Mal/Generic-S is a generic detection and the file in question is not necessarily a virus or infected.
