Safeguard 6.10 client synchronization schedule

We are rolling out encryption to all of our staff. Our current method is to push the installation to all the machines and allow them to sync to the server to pull the client configuration.

We were wondering what the default time frame is for the client to attempt to contact the server?

It looks like we can manually double client the icon in the tool abr to foce a sync but we're hoping that we can get the process to work without any manual intervention from the IT staff.

  • The deafult is 90 minutes however there is a +/- 50% range where the client will synchronise to prevent every client from synchronising at the same time and slowing the network down. So using the deafult it will synchronise between 45 to 135 minutes after the last synch.

It can be changed in the Safeguard Management center by creating a General Settings Policy and changing the "Transfer Rate: Connection internal to server (min)" value to the interval you want.

The only concern I have with your plan is that without the client configuration how will the client know which server to synchronise to? Unless I am missing something?
