password change issues - safeguard

In my environment users are required to change passwords every 90 days.

i have a user who attempted to change their password (CTRL+ALT+DEL) and sophos safeguard told them the old password was incorrect, which is simply not true (i have verified the user knows their password by asking them to log out and back in).

Has anyone experienced anything similar to this? any ideas on how to resolve the issue?

  • Hi,

change to the Management Center and delete the users certificate (users & computers / your domain / user --> certificate ).

    Also see my attached screenshot.

Log off the user and restart the computer. Let the user log in again and sync with the SGE server. The server will create a new user certificate. Restart again and try password change again. The problem should be resolved. Sometimes we have the same problem.

    Greetings, Peter
