Disable Outlook encryption or default to not encrypted with Synchronized Encryption?

Currently running Synchronized Encryption with SGN 8. I have ZixGateway email encryption in place already and that is my preferred email encryption method because of how common it is in my industry, and because it auto encrypts emails including those with only text. My Zix is at the Exchange level not the end-user's PC or client. They don't have to do anything to encrypt emails, but can take a step to force NO encryption through Zix.

I want SGN to assume that all outgoing files should NOT be encrypted so that my existing Zix email solution can handle all email encryption. I don't want us to have to train and support users to know the difference between the two methods because that puts them in a position of having to decide when to disable one of them and potentially end up disabling Both because of mistakes or confusion.

There don't seem to be any policies to do this.

  • I found the General policy for behavior of the Outlook add-in for Whitelisted domains, and this can be set to No encryption but the whitelist does not support wildcards or partial domains. Hard to imagine any use cases here..
