Can Bitlocker be configured to use the Safeguard passthrough logon mode if laptop does not have a TPM?

Hi,

First time we are using Bitlocker management with Safeguard. I have a laptop that doesn't have a TPM. I would like the client to act like the Win 7 Pro and use the Safeguard login screen to authenticate but can't seems to be able to use it with out a password for Bitlocker.

The policy to change the Bitlocker password with Safeguard seems to work, but is there anyway for this to be switched off?

Thanks,

Liam

    Hi Liam,

You can't use the passthrough with BitLocker unfortunately, the two systems are completely separate and don't talk to one another. You have to have the password otherwise anyone could decrypt the disk.

    Hope that helps Liam.
