Orphaned clients - live forever?

If I have clients that will never normally connect to the network and hence the mangement server, assuming the user never forgets their password etc, how long will the client live for?  Does it diable itself if it can't 'phone home' after a certain amount of time?

    The POA is network independent and so will continue to allow access to the drive even if the management center is decomissioned.

    In theory the whole of civilisation could fall and an encrypted laptop would still function ;)
