SafeGuard v7 and new Dell Laptop Models

Hi,

does SafeGuard v7 already work with the new Latitude E7x70 and Precision M7510?

Best Regards

  • E7x70 will contain NVMe SSD drives. It's very unlikely that these drives will work without a hotfix. In best case this existing patch can be used for this model, but nobody can confirm without testing.

  • Thanks, good to know :) Shouldn't it be possible to let these SSDs run in AHCI mode?
We will receive an E7470 within the next two weeks.

    Hi Michael,

From what I understand there's an AHCI and NVMe version of these devices. The AHCI and NVMe versions both use the same controller dubbed as "UBX", a PCIe 3.0 controller that should support both AHCI and NVMe driver s... however the only way to be sure is to test it.

Sorry it's not a better answer Michael, but please do let us know how you get on.
  • Hi,

I will report back, when I have such a device. There have been problems with new dell models in the past, so I am kind of used to it ;)

Where do I get this hotfix as a download? We are currently using the "7.00.0.105" Kernel, with the Exx50 models patched to "7.00.1.2".
