SafeGuard Enterprise 6.0 - how reclaim license

Ok, I've got an older laptop this is going to be retired.  I've gone through the steps to enable decryption of the drive (it's running right now) however once that is done what's next?  If I uninstall the related Sophos Safeguard software from the client will that in free up the license in SafeGuard manager?  Or is there something else I need to do?  We are using POA if that makes a difference.

  • Hi MooreIT,

the Client has to be removed manually from the Management Center to free up the license count.

You can use the SafeGuard Enterprise Management Center Inventory function to check for SafeGuard Clients that are no longer synchronizing with the SafeGuard Server to easily remove old / no longer existing Client.

Open up the Management Center and select the Root node (or your domain node) and switch to the "Inventory" tab. Click on the search button to start a wildcard search for all machines in the environment. Sort the list using the "Last Server Contact" column to identify old / no longer existing Clients.

  • I can see the client in the console and that it hasn't communicated with the server for a while however how to I manually remove it?

  • To remove the client from the console, select the respective domain node and open the search dialoge (Shift+F). Enter the machine name and select the machine. To delete the machine, right click it and select "Delete"
