Configuration Protection in Safeguard 6.1?

HI @all,

we installed 6.1 in a new Win2012R2 Server.

All seams to be ok - but we can not find the "configuration protection client"???

It's no longer Part of the "SGNClient_x64" installer file and the file "SGNCPClient_x64" does not exists in the "Client installies" directory.

Searched the Dokumentation but didn't find how to install CPClient.

Help! :-)

  • Doyle,

    Well said!

    And my two cents...

Sophos End-Point Device Control lacks the same feature rich functionality provided by CP.

Even buying Port Protector from Wave will not bring back the feature integration with SafeGuard.  For example; the ability to have two different whitelists - for encrypted and non-encrypted devices.

Oh, and the fact that I renewed my licensing and support for CP for an extra three years, and Sophos failed to mention that it's EOL in 2015... I'm expecting some money back please Sophos.

These kind of things are so furiating after being a Sophos customer for nigh-on 15 years!

  • Thanks RL,

Device control in Enpoint is good for SMB's wanting simple management in one product and one easy to use console.  It is no were near as feature rich as CP and provides no were near the functionality Enterprises desire.

Even the suggestion that it can be used as a replacement for CP just shows to me the lack of understanding Sophos now seems to have for its customers.

Maybe we should all drop Safeguard and use the Encryption now built in to the Enterprise Console, if its good enough to suggest we could use EC for Device Control instead of CP then why not Full Disk Encryption aswell !

Did you find an alternative product? I'm curious what you will use after the end of support date....
