Uninstall Safeguard Easy v4.50.2

Hello,

I have purchase a pc over ebay.com that have installed this product Safeguard Easy 4.50.2

i have the password to boot the system so i haven't problem in using the notebook.

I want to uninstall it because i don't need this, my SO is Windows Xp Professional.

I have try to uninstall that using the uninstaller present in the folder Ultimaco in Program Files but it ask me a password (searching on internet i see that is the password of SYSTEM account). I don't have this password so i can't continue unistall the sofware. I have also read that i can use a recovery cd but the bios of my pc is locked so i can't change boot order.

I need a challenge/response code to perform uninstall on my system.

How i can request this code?

There are other solution?

Thanks in advice

  • Hi Crystalboy,

uninstalling SafeGuard Easy is only possible using an account with the appropriate rights. As you've already mentioned, the "SYSTEM" account always has the right to uninstall. In addition to the SYSTEM account, other accounts can also be configured to unintall SafeGuard Easy.

I guess you've already tried the account that you use to login to the Pre-Boot Authentication (PBA)? If not try this account to uninstall.

If it doesn't work, I'd recommend to get in contact with the person that sold you the machine and request the SYSTEM password. Also ask for the BIOS password of the machine, you may need it if you want to change the BIOS configuration.

    Regards,

    Chris
