We are testing Safeguard enterprise and using it to encrypt USB flash drives with file-level encryption. This is working well so far. Users can encrypt, pass off the flash drive, and another end-user can use sgmobile to decrypt and edit the files.
The one issue I am seeing is that if you encrypt, say, a .txt file, and open it on another PC without using sgmobile, you can still type in and save over the files encrypted text. Typing in this file (any type of random text) and then saving the file wll apparently render the file usless (that is, you can no longer decrypt it, because it will now see the file as un-encrypted). It does not decrypt it, but I don't see the point of trying to encrypt a file if somebody can just steal the flash drive and destroy the files content?
Maybe I am missing something in my setup, but I thought I would post and see if anybody else has come accross this.
