SGE 6.1 installation - Database Authentication

I'm using the Sophos - SafeGuard Enterprise Installation Advisor to install our SGE instance.  I'm installing it on a Windows 2008 R2 SP1 system with MS SQL 2008 R2.  I'm having an issue with the "2. Configure SafeGuard Enterprise - Test your installation" section when I run the "Run Invoke Test."  Every time I do this I get a check on "WebService," but the Database Authentication part fails with the following message:

"Ensure that the SafeGuard Enterprise Server is already authorized in the Management Center. If so reboot the server and run the test again."

I've rebooted and this doesn't fix the problem.  I've ensured the server is authorized in the Management Console.  The server has the firewall turned off / disabled, so the ports should be available that are needed for all the connections (shouldn't they?).  I am an Administrator (and Domain Admin) on the system, so it shouldn't be an issue with Administration privileges... my account also has SQL Admin privileges.

So, right now I'm at a loss as to what might be the problem.  Might anyone have an idea where I could check next?  I can't find anything on the forums related to this issue.
