Hi Micheal,
I running Window 7 Ultimate 64bit. In File Encryption module, I tried encryption file (eg: wordpad). With files are created after I installed SGNClient working fine. But files are created before, they are not encrypted. So, how to SafeGuard encrypt these file?

I don't believe it will do this unless you use location based encryption. EG - All files within C:\Encrypted_Files will be encrypted. If you use Application based I don't think it will retrospectively encrypt old files "pre-client" but I may be wrong?
So if I use location-based, these old files was created before could be automatically encrypt.
With Synchronized Encryption, I think Safeguard should provide auto discover old files. Maybe Safeguard can do this.

Hi Huy,
for existing files on a client with location-based file encryption, the user can trigger the so called "initial encryption" using the file encryption wizard.
See https://docs.sophos.com/esg/sgn/8-0/user/win/en-us/webhelp/index.htm#concepts/FileShare-InitialEncryption.htm for details.
When using Synchronized Encryption (application-based file encryption), you can simply enable an option in the policy (available for local, cloud and removables).
In that case the client will search for the files with the file extensions which were defined in the Application List and encrypt them in the background.
Hope that helps.
