TLS on a ES1100

Morning could anyone help with a quick question.

what is the version of  SSL/TLS that runs or is allowed if the encryption is switched on

as tls 1.0 is now being phased out and 1.2 is becoming the standard

is it backwards compatable?

Many thanks

  • Hello Richard,

SSL version can be checked from the backend of the appliance, not the GUI.

Unfortunately, backend is not accessible to customers due to security reasons. You will have to contact sophos support to know the openssl version.

Below command shows the openssl version in sophos email appliance v4.0.0.0

    Test-EMail ~ # openssl version

The appliance already uses TLS 1.2 whenever possible.
For TLS : You can check and make sure STLS is ON and enter a test email address on checktls.com
