&lt;p&gt;I have the exact same issue without any major re-installation ! It currently takes 2hours to backup 2MBs with on-access scanning activated. Upon disabling it, 34GB are transferred in a matter of minutes. This is true backing up on networked time capsule or on networked NAS. The exclusions for the volumes are indeed activated but seem to be ignored. &amp;nbsp;Upon checking my activity monitor, I can see that the SophosScanD process is working but very slowly ... Could it be that the latest update of sophos is faulty and ignore the exclusions for networked volumed ?&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The following image is from a network monitor : before the arrow, on-access checking is on and the down(red)/up(green)-load speeds are at 200kb/s max. After the arrow,&amp;nbsp;on-access checking is off and the top speeds are of 20Mb/s !&lt;/p&gt;
