We want to migrate to a new server, but there is no migration guide for 5 available, does anybody know when this will come?

Hello AHC,
so you did already upgrade to 5.0 on your old server and now want to migrate or move to a new server "during" upgrade?

Hello AHC,
how about a field test for DataBackupRestore.exe
? Using the 4.x guide as base it should not be too hard as it is in principle the same procedure. DataBackupRestore exports among other things the Certification Manager keys which you should import before installing (unless you want to give the new server a new set of certificates).

So instead of the ExportPrivateStore, BackupDB commands I use the DataBackupRestore.exe command?

Yup. The database backup is just that and BackupDB still exists (it's nothing more than a wrapper for the SQL BACKUP DATABASE command, although by default it does not backup the Patch database)

Hi Sophos,
We're also really keen to do this (we want to move an existing 32bit instance of the version 5 enterprise console to a new 64bit machine we have read). Anything you can give us would be appreciated (we're happy to field test etc - we've done detailed stuff before with sophos upgrades.)
Regards,
Jon.

Hi Guys,
Like AHC I have done the upgrade to 5.0 and now would like to migrate to a new box. Has anyone had success in doing the prementioned?
I have a 2003 server that is slowly, getting slower by the day and Id like to move SEC to a new VM.

Thanks in advance
