Note: we've introduced a couple of new categories in this release:
Application vulnerabilities - will contain identities to detect specific versions of applications with known vulnerabilities. The first couple of identities detect vulnerable versions of the encryption module used by SanDisk, Verbatim and Kingston on their secure removable storage drives. All three manufacturers have made updates available to existing devices to patch the vulnerability and new devices are not vulnerable. The Sophos identities will only detect the vulnerable versions of the encryption module.
Tethered connection tool - will contain identities to detect software used to access 3G / Edge modems (dongles) or to connect / tether a PC to a mobile phone. These applications can be used in corporate environments to circumnavigate proxies.
Asset Management tool - will contain identities to detect asset management software.
Digital imaging tool - will contain identities to detect software used for image manipulation.
Media conversion tool - will contain identities to detect software used for media format conversion.
If you have any suggestions for additional software please let us know via the web form: https://secure.sophos.com/support/application/
